September 25th – 26th 2010 is the next Llano Gold And Gem Rendezvous. This is the best time to meet fellow prospectors and do some panning on the Llano river.

@rottenrobbie66 ….Hi, my husband and I are GPAA members from Tomball, TX and we were wondering if the club still has access to that part of the river as there seems to be no mention of it in the GPAA guide. We are planning a trip to Llano and were wondering if we might stop and pan a little. I will also contact the Llano chapter just in case you do not receive this. Thanks, Tracy.

Is there any place to pan along the Llano river that’s on public land? If not, how can you get a license to pan ?

We were Just below the bridge [Hwy16] .The club has access to this part of the river. Make sure you have a valid GPAA card if want to prospect there to avoid getting fined or jailed. If you are local come to one of the meetings or events. just google Llano GPAA to find out more.
